The University of Arizona's Old Main.

The Economic & Business Research Center's mission is to provide the Arizona community of business and public-sector decision makers with economic forecasts, applied research, and information on economic, demographic and business trends in the State, its metro areas, and the Western region.

EBR responds to requests for information from state and local government agencies, chambers of commerce, public and private researchers, industrial organizations, news media, and private citizens. In turn, EBR seeks research contracts with public and private agencies. How can you participate in EBR's research efforts?

What does EBR offer?

  • Publications
    Arizona's Economy provides analysis of current business conditions and forecasts of future economic activity in Arizona each quarter; Arizona Economic Indicators includes detailed economic indicators for Arizona's metro areas and counties; the Arizona Statistical Abstract 2003, a 600+ page data compendium; the annual Economic Outlook report.
  • Research Studies
    Recent studies include Modeling Practices and Their Ability to Assess Tax/Expenditure Economic Impacts, Economic Impacts of Mexican Tourists to Arizona, University of Arizona Research Expenditures: Generating Jobs, Wages and Tax Revenues in the Local Economy, Economic Impact of the University of Arizona, and much more.
  • Data Center
    Current Indicators provides the most recent updates on important economic measures for Arizona online. EBR is also a member of the National State Data Center Network.
  • EBR Library
    A unique reference collection focusing on economic conditions in Arizona and its counties.
  • Benchmark Reports
    Outline changes in various important economic sectors in Arizona.
  • Forecasts
    Available in Arizona's Economy and in the annual Economic Outlook report. EBR also provides comprehensive forecasting services to sponsoring government agencies, private companies and organizations.
  • Contract Research
    With public and private sponsorship EBR conducts research in the areas of industry analysis, economic impact, fiscal policy and taxation, program evaluation, cluster analysis, corporate economics and forecasting. Listing.
