"...the measured economic impacts are substantial, with astronomy, planetary and space sciences research activities directly or indirectly contributing over 3,300 jobs to the Arizona economy, $138.6 million in earnings, and $114.2 million in other value added, including $11.9 million in taxes. Combined, astronomy, planetary and space sciences research contributes over a quarter of a billion dollars in output (sales) to the local community."
